The Winemaker

The Winemaker

After having known many ways of living and making wine, in various parts of the world, I returned to the great Douro valley convinced that we have the potential to make the best wines in the world. With respect for nature, due to the way we cultivate our vineyards, my wines reflect my experiences, which smell and taste of my land, of schist, wet granite, rockrose, wild flowers and fruits.

The Family

Since the 19th century, my family is linked to farming and viticulture in the border area between Upper Douro and Beira Alta, in one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula. It was within the family that my passion for the aromas and scents of this land was born and shaped my character. A legacy of respect for the region’s traditional fauna and flora, the environment and its people.
