The passion for wine comes from the family where we are born, and the land from which it grows.
In 2007, I rehabilitated Quinta da Pedra Escrita, a property that has been in the family for more than eight generations. Due to its altitude and the granite soils – very sandy, poor and arid – I wanted to revive here the concept of Douro wines for ageing, as in times past.
With the Beyra project, I pioneered the concept of High-Altitude Wines. In Vermiosa, amidst the highest vineyards in Portugal, I returned to my roots, in the same winery where I had made my first harvest, in 1986.
Our commitment to a better world for future generations, in terms of the environment and the economy for the people.
