In 2007 I rehabilitated the Quinta da Pedra Escrita estate – Freixo de Numão – which has belonged to my family for 8 generations and where I planted the first vineyard during that year.
The vineyard was planted here because I trust that the granite soils in altitude give rise to wines with extreme complexity aromas and great ageing potential, like in the old times.
This is a tradition we want to recover in a world of wines increasingly stereotyped, emphasizing the unique character of the granite white wines from the high altitude vineyards of Douro.
These wines are also a tribute to those who have shaped my character and always inspired me.
