‘My family, originally from the Douro Superior, has always been involved in olive growing and olive oil production. From an early age I was accustomed to the culture of olive oil throughout the kitchen, which led me to the Ligurian Riviera in Italy to take a professional extra virgin olive oil tasting course at the famous ONAOO - Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori Olio di Oliva. This selection of small batches of olive oil from the Madural, Negrinha de Freixo and Cornicabra varieties reminds me of the mill oils of my childhood, the aromas and flavours of the Family olive oils.
Dominant notes of very fresh olives, a fine and elegant almond flavour so characteristic of Douro Superior olive oils, with lively notes of dried tomatoes.
The flavour is fresh and lively, with a very discreet spiciness denoting the excellence of this olive oil.’
